Welcome to www.lincolnshirepride.co.uk, the county’s High Society magazine, published monthly and sold in shops, supermarkets and newsagents across Lincolnshire. Covering the whole of Lincoln and the rest of the county from the Humber to the Wash, out towards Newark and covering the south of the county including Stamford and the Deepings, the publication reflects the very best people, businesses, restaurants & hotels, and fashions from across the county.

Established in 2002, the magazine has gained a formidable reputation for high quality editorial, cutting-edge design and excellent marketing packages. Each month, we host our own fashion shoot using local retailers and visit local restaurants and hotel personally to sample the best eateries to recommend to our readers — resulting in a magazine that credibly represents the best that Lincolnshire has to offer.

Supporting jobs in Lincolnshire’s farming industry, its food producers and its independent retailers is something we passionately believe in. Meet The Team

Just a Few of the Faces Behind Lincolnshire Pride…

Achievement is never an accident… and the secret of Lincolnshire Pride’s popularity is a really dedicated team passionate about promoting the county. It’s both our job and our pleasure to ensure that our readers value the publication and that our advertisers enjoy a great response from their investment.

Lincolnshire Pride’s Publisher is Julian Wilkinson. Born and raised in Boston, Julian is a remarkable businessman and a devoted husband & father to his family, wife Zoie & children Tilly, Izzy, Joseph and Harvey. By his own admission, Julian is rarely out of ‘work mode,’ but in the rare eventuality of his switching off from work, Julian is a dab hand in the kitchen, and hosts exceptional dinner parties. He also enjoys the Lincolnshire countryside, taking the family on long walks and working in his (very well maintained!) garden.

Meanwhile, the magazine’s Executive Editor is Rob Davis. Another Boston man, Rob is a keen photographer, writer and print designer with a passion for Canon cameras and Apple Mac computers. He goes weak at the knees over Land Rovers and never misses Holby City on Tuesday evenings. On a more serious note, Rob really does believe in promoting Lincolnshire businesses and maintains a great relationship with advertisers and readers alike, with an obvious passion for his job that has remained since he worked on Lincolnshire Pride’s very first edition back in 2002.

Equally keen to build great relationships with advertisers is Cathy Taylor, Lincolnshire Pride’s Sales Manager, who thrives on meeting customers and ensuring they enjoy a great return from their investment in the publication. Cathy lives with husband Andy, a musician in the Band of RAF College Cranwell. Both Cathy and Andy are very super-fit; keen runners who embark on long, exhausting runs in even the worst weather… rather them than us, we think!

Elsewhere, Lincolnshire Pride’s designer is Mandy Bray, who is responsible not only for the way the magazine looks, but the quality of our adverts, requesting artwork and co-ordinating proofs. Mandy’s a real style icon in the office, so it’s no surprise that she also oversees the magazine’s fashion section and is responsible for our reputation as a fashionable and great looking magazine.

Meanwhile, website editor, IT-guru and (very) part-time comedian, Ian Bagley is the company’s resident computer genius. Launching the new-look www.lincolnshirepride.co.uk in 2010, Ian lives in Lincoln with wife Sarah and son Jim. His technical skills are unsurpassed but thankfully he also has a knack of making technology approachable so advertisers can very effectively take advantage of powerful online marketing opportunities.

Last but not least, our office manager and accounts administrator Sue Bannister lives in Boston with husband Roger and son Adam. With strong links to farming in Lincolnshire and almost supernatural organisational skills, Sue is yet another member of the team who gains real satisfaction from her job, ensuring our customers’ queries are dealt with swiftly and professionally.

A Brief Introduction to the County We Know (and love!)…

Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire) is the second largest county in the UK, after North Yorkshire and is home to over 1,016,000 people.

As a county, we produce or process over 20% of all the food consumed in the UK. As such, farming is an extremely important part of Lincolnshire’s economy — the Food and Agriculture industry in Lincolnshire is worth £1.6bn annually — and it’s culture. It’s our job to champion the county’s farmers in each edition of Lincolnshire Pride and we maintain a sense of great respect for those who keep up our reputation as the county that feeds the country.

Tourism is also a huge part of Lincolnshire’s culture — not surprising given the fact that 16,700,000 people visited the county last year, spending over £900,000. New to the county? Visit historic Lincoln’s Bailgate and Steep Hill area with its independent retailers, beautiful castle and Lincoln Cathedral, plus a wealth of restaurants and hotels. We can also recommend Lincolnshire’s East Coast, and Stamford, the latter of which is considered to be England’s finest Georgian stone town.

Each year, Lincolnshire hosts the Lincolnshire Show in June, as well as the Spilsby Show, Heckington Show, Winterton Show, Revesby Show and of course, the Burghley Horse Trials, a major world-class sporting event attracting 150,000 each September!

What else are we famous for? Well, Margaret Thatcher, Jennifer Saunders, Bernie Taupin, Lord Tennyson, The Pilgrim Fathers and Sir Isaac Newton are all famous Lincolnshire folk. We’re also renowned for our Lincolnshire sausages, Lincoln Red beef, Grimsby’s fresh fish, and the fresh vegetables grown in the rich, silty farmland around the Wash.
