Jeff Sullivan, Cars for Stars and Groom-on-a-Harley
With a fleet of executive vehicles and stretched limosenes, Spilsby chauffeur Jeff Sullivan is already kept busy, but with his new business, Groom on a Harley, his feet will barely touch the ground… because he’ll be gliding around the county on a two-wheeled legend
Like most brilliant ideas, the concept for Jeff Sullivan’s new business venture popped into the Spilsby based chauffeur’s head one morning…. and like most good ideas, the flash of inspiration came just when he was trying to switch off from work and relax!
The businessman has just taken delivery of two new Harley Davidson bikes, but whilst the vehicles are more traditionally associated with the American Dream, Jeff aims to make the dream just a little bit more English, and hope to make dreams come true for brides and grooms across the county too.
“It was during a holiday with my wife Ruth that the idea came to me.” Says Jeff. “Following a conversation about things you have to do at least once in a lifetime, such as visiting Las Vegas and riding a Harley on Route 66, we subsequently found ourselves in America and visited Vegas’ famous Harley Davidson themed café.”
Jeff says he instantly fell in love with the marque, and whilst the chauffeur can’t profess to feeling as enthusistic about being on two wheels as he does about his fleet of nine executive cars which includes Bentleys, Mercedes, BMWs and limos, he instantly realised that the bikes were just as distinctive and just as evocative.
Back in Lincolnshire just a week or so later, Jeff awoke one morning, turned to Ruth and declared “Groom on a Harley!”… marking the beginning of his new business.
“I think the reason we’re so popular in terms of executive hire is the fact that we have cars that are unusual and distinctive.” Says Jeff. “Brides phone up and request something unusual… and the Harleys are certainly that, but all too often the bride’s transport is taken care of whilst the poor old groom is left to find his own way to the church. We’re intending to change all that…! We can transport the groom and his best man to church… and the bikes look great in photographs, it’s a superb way to make an entrance and a way to ensure that the groom, as well as the bride, can arrive in style!”
